A post dedicated to Scarlett Johansson’s boobs
Ok. So, I came across this picture:
And was instantly thrown as I remembered quite clearly seeing this picture:
Clearly there was a discrepancy here.
So, like the super-sleuth that I am, I went a-googling to try and figure out what was going on, and which was more recent.
It seems the top is more recent, and she’d gone for a reduction. Fair enough, I thought. They were pretty massive and will have been ridiculously heavy. Maybe she had back-ache. Maybe she was worried she would only be cast in films for her chest rather than abilities.
But then I read the comments.
Then I got angry.
Shall we have but a small selection? These are from the FIRST pages of a body building forum and an entertainment site (no, not that kind of entertainment).
‘Breast Reduction Surgery? That’s like slapping God across the face for giving you a beautiful gift.’
‘Why would she get rid of something she flaunts so much..’
‘whyyyyyyyyyy i loved those beauties… she dun phuckeddd up hard…’
‘there goes her hotness
no more nude movie time’‘Tis a shame :( They were her strongest feature! Lindsey too! DAMN THEM!’
‘reductions……bumming guys out since…..forever’

What, exactly, gives you the right to say ANY of this? Breast reduction is not an insult to god, it’s a practical solution to an impractical and potentially health-threatening aspect of your natural body, and a personal choice. It’s not for everyone, but why judge someone for chosing to do it?
As for “flaunting” it, what so many people seem to not realise is that it’s very difficult NOT to do so. Especially at big events. Dresses are not generally made for women with small waists and a large bust. Generally, to fit the bust one needs to either buy something ill-fitting around the waist (which can look sloppy) or incredibly baggy all over (which, with the fabric hanging off the bust, tends to make the wearer look pregnant). Sometimes high necks just do. not. suit. people. In the rare occasion that one manages to find a dress that will fit both waist AND bust, it tends to be somewhat boob-tastic. That’s a compromise that sometimes just has to be made. It should also be pointed out that WHY THE HELL SHOULDN’T SHE FLAUNT IT IF SHE WANTS TO?? Just because she’s worn revealing necklines in the past doesn’t mean she’s suddenly not allowed to “disavow” her cleavage.
A person’s “hotness” isn’t limited to one aspect of them. These comments make her seem like a plastic doll rather than a human being. I for one think she’s stunning in both pictures. Look at her. Then listen to her in interviews. She is kickass. Who fucking CARES what size her boobs are?!
It is interesting to note that for every comment I posted here, all those with identifiable pics were men.
This suggests two things to me.
A) either these men are all selfish, slavering, superficial chauvanists
or (/and)
b) people are NOT discussing the IMPLICATIONS of large breasts, leaving many wondering what on earth the reason could be for undergoing such surgery. Society is obsessed with breasts, but never discusses that there can be downsides to them.
Thankfully, there are a few voices of reason in the latter site, but they are overwhelming outnumbered by comments such as those above.
All this makes me angry, but the most important fact I have left ‘til last:
How is it anyone’s business but Johansson’s?
